Letter from Mrs. New York America Regarding The Victoria's Voice Foundation Fundraiser

Dear Friends:

It is with great pride and gratitude, that I announce we have raised $4,794 at our fundraiser for the Victoria's Voice Foundation on 6/28 at the East Hanover Fire Dept!

This event was truly a team effort and I never could have done this alone.

I must thank:

1) My husband Pat, who was my biggest supporter and did so much work to help make this event possible.

2) Our  dear friends Michael and Anna Calabro whose help was instrumental and their commitment was inspiring.

3) Our dear friends John and Joan Centanni who devoted so much time, energy, passion and their love into making this event possible.

4) Our dear friend Rob Zwigard who mobilized his incredible network in the community to get them to come and support this event. Rob, you are amazing!!

Victoria's Voice is the official charity partner of the Mrs. America Organization. It's mission is to eradicate the opioid epidemic and one of our goals is to supply police departments nationwide with the funding to buy the drug overdose antidote, NARCAN.

It is important to let the police have access to NARCAN because in the case of overdose, people overwhelmingly dial 9-1-1 first and the first on the scene are almost always the police.

Consistent with Victoria's Voice mission, is the HOPE ONE Initiative under the vision of Sheriff James Gannon of Morris County.

I would like to thank Sheriff Gannon of Morris County for his leadership and his comprehensive strategy to battle the opioid epidemic, through the implementation of the HOPE ONE Initiative. It is a pioneering program- using confiscated drug money to fund this mobile awareness and recovery van. Truly innovative, cost effective,  and the ability to reach a large number of families through HOPE ONE is awe inspiring.  It is fixing the problem- head on- at the grass-root level, at its finest.

I would like to thank the entire East Hanover Police Dept for their dedication to saving the lives of our community. Thank you Chief Cannizzo, Captain Ambrose, and the following officers who have personally administered NARCAN to save lives since January 2017: PTL. Zimmerman, PTL. Scherer, PTL. Donnard, PTL. Jordan, PTL. Genovese, PTL, Cerrato.

Below are the elected officials who came to support  our fundraiser for Victoria's Voice. This is a reflection of the strength and compassion of the local government, and why East Hanover is on the forefront of battling this epidemic and I hope other cities will emulate their model. Their elected officials truly understand the problem we are facing and they devote funding and resources to combat this illness that is killing our children.

I also like to thank my entire Mrs. NY Pageant family, specifically, my sister queen Mrs. Alison Trenk, my pageant sisters: Mrs. Amanda Richie, Mrs. Bridget Croteau, Mrs. Kate Boydston, Mrs. Leanne Baum, Mrs. Patti Gomez, Mrs. Sheila Strassburg and Mrs. Erica Carder.

Thank you Mrs. Kate Boydston, our Mrs. Hudson Valley, who also attended the fundraiser and helped out with the program tremendously.

I was touched by the compassion and generosity of everyone who supported Victoria's Voice yesterday, both online and in person. The Town of East Hanover is truly impressive because they represent American Greatness-- people uniting together, working hard together, to fix a problem together.

Together, we can do it!
